Spotting Dolphins – The Magnificent Creatures f Croatia

Croatia’s beautiful blue sea has beckoned worldwide tourists seeking excitement and serenity at its stunning shore. Some of the amazing things you see in this bewitching country include a chance to spot these magnificent dolphins in the wild. You even get a chance to swim with these smart animals, which is the most amazing experience a nature and animal lover should not miss.

In this post, there are three selected destinations in Croatia most famous for the observation of dolphins. You can read more about dolphins on National Parks Association.

The Kornati Islands

The Kornati Islands consist of ninety islands, islets, and reefs. It is situated in the northern Dalmatian area. These islands are famous for their unspoiled and rich sea life which make it a preferable spot for watching dolphins. Kornati Island is surrounded by sea, which is rich in marine life including different varieties of fish and even dolphins abound in this area.

Tourists can take a boat tour or if they prefer, hire a personal boat with an experienced guide who will show them several creatures in their natural habitat. Sailing on the clear waters and watching dolphins frolic, dive and perform acrobatics right beside the boat are some of the interesting and unforgettable moments while on the water.

The Telašćica Bay

Another interesting place to encounter the dolphins is situated in the Zadar area – Telašćica Bay. The bay is a part of Kornati National Park, which is encircled by picturesque views and is a sheltered area for dolphins. The region has rich fish resources, so dolphins frequently visit to chase and feed on the fish. There are boat rides that go out in the sea to try and find dolphins for you to watch, maybe even swim with.

As the boat glides gently through the crystal clear waters of Telašćica Bay, the playful dolphins emerge leaping gracefully in the sunlit waves. Their sleek bodies cut through the sea creating ripples. With every leap, their joyful energy fills the air. You get to experience an unforgettable, serene spectacle of nature.

It doesn’t matter whether you go for a private trip or opt for a group – the views are stunning, and the possibility to see dolphins makes Telašćica Bay one of the most special attractions.

The Vis Island

Vis Island in Central Dalmatia is a tranquil gem in the Adriatic Sea. It takes pride in its secluded beaches, rugged cliffs and vibrant turquoise waters. It is a coral island bound by natural clear waters with diverse aquatic life forms. Dolphin watching on Viz Island is a magical experience. The calm waters of the sea create an ideal setting to observe the playful dolphins leaping and swimming.

For better chances to observe dolphins, you can organize a boat ride or meet a local captain who will show you the best routes along the coast of the island. You get to watch the fins of dolphins cutting through water, or young dolphins jumping and playing.

Croatia has four coasts and numerous islands and the underwater world buzzing with life, perfect for watching dolphins. Starting with the Kornati Islands, through the Telašćica Bay, up to the Vis Island – there are definite differences between them. Therefore, grab your suitcase and off you go to Croatia to have a fantastic time with the dolphins.
